I woke earlier than usual this morning with the following song in my head…
I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When your face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus?
Or in awe of you be still?
Will I stand in your presence?
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Listening to this haunting song sung by Casting Crowns I was, for a moment, transported in my mind to that ultimate destiny promised by Jesus.
Meanwhile, back in the Covid-19 reality of today, I am reminded of something which Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:17:
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
If you are feeling anxious and burdened at this time, I pray that the perspective of the promise of heaven will lift your spirit and give you strength for today.
